Matt Hornback Takes First at Central Coast Chaos - MDT Field Report

We had a chance to catch up with Matt for a quick interview. Matt said he enjoyed the match, especially the constant wind. Matt noted that efficiency and economy of motion were a must and that if you were holding dead center of the target, you were probably going to miss due to the wind! Matt placed 1st overall in the Open category and 1st in the LE/MIL category.

Matt used a custom rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor assembled by Straight Jacket Armory. His rifle consisted of a Lone Peak action attached to a barrel from HS Precision. The barreled action was mated to an MDT ACC Elite Chassis System augmented with an MDT Comp Brake and an MDT CKYE-Pod. For his cartridge, Matt used 140-grain Hornady ELDM Peterson SRP brass and H4350 for powder. For optics, he chose a Leupold Mark 5 5-25 with a PR2 reticle.
