Lethal Corporation: The Bipod The Sniper Community Use on Everything When Possible

The MDT CKYE-POD has earned a reputation as one of the most capable precision rifle bipods on the market. In this hands-on demonstration, Lucas Botkin from LETHAL Corporation (formerly with TREX Arms) focused not only on showcasing a premium accessory (or Medieval weapon, depending on your mood that day) but also on illustrating how a highly adaptable bipod can solve real-world shooting problems that conventional designs struggle to overcome. For competitors and long-range shooters who routinely encounter difficult terrain and unconventional firing positions, that flexibility can be the difference between a successful hunt or a match win. Let's check this video out.

Built for Any Position

The MDT CKYE-POD is available in Single, Double, and Triple Pull configurations, with the Triple Pull offering an even greater extension range for extreme shooting angles. While the Double Pull model provides unmatched versatility, Lucas favored the lighter, less expensive Single Pull version. Why? Because it covers nearly every practical scenario while reducing weight and simplifying adjustments. Rather than viewing the CKYE-POD as an accessory every rifle needs, Lucas suggested treating it as a shared piece of equipment that can easily move between rifles equipped with ARCA rails, making the investment more practical for shooters who own multiple precision rifles.

These aren't "affordable" bipods. You get what you pay for. Instead of buying a "cheap" bipod for every rifle, buy one really good bipod that can be moved around as needed. If it helps, that's what I do.

Real-World Advantages

Several field demonstrations highlighted how the CKYE-POD distinguishes itself from traditional bipods such as the Harris or Atlas. On steep downhill terrain, uneven hillsides, large boulders, and in confined shooting positions, the extended legs kept the rifle stable while closely replicating a prone shooting position. The overview also showcased the benefits of an ARCA rail, which lets shooters quickly reposition the bipod along the rifle to eliminate awkward body positioning and maximize stability.

Another key takeaway was to keep the bipod legs in their flattest position whenever possible, lowering the rifle's center of gravity and improving recoil management. Throughout the drills, the ability to spot impacts, make corrections, and maintain sight picture reinforced the extent to which a stable position contributes to successful long-range shooting. You can start to tell why the CKYE-POD is popular with both competitive shooters and snipers.

Final Thoughts

For shooters preparing for demanding PRS, NRL, or team sniper matches, where barricades and unusual terrain are common, the CKYE-POD becomes far more valuable. Lucas concludes by emphasizing that, like any specialized piece of equipment, the CKYE-POD requires practice to master. Learning when to extend the legs, adjust angles, or reposition the bipod is a skill in itself—but once developed, it can significantly improve efficiency and stability when every shot counts.
